Does not Keep you Informed

This office didn't invoice me until after I signed a settlement agreement. The amount I owed just happened to be slightly under the amount of my settlement. Refuses to withdraw in a timely manner.

This review is patently false. Cindy was kept completely informed throughout her case via regular email and telephone communications. Her final invoice was not even close to the amount I obtained for her in settlement. She was invoiced after the settlement conference because the case was concluded and a final invoice was generated and dispatched, which is a regular and common practice.

Disappointed-Buyer Beware

I retained Amy to do a simple child support modification and enforcement. It took over a year and a half. I could have actually done this my self and had it completed in a couple months but I live out of state. Then she told me during mediation that the amount my Ex is agreeing to should cover the... remaining balance. Well after over $7,400 she wants more. I do not understand how you can justify this amount when she had me settle with my ex for $3000 at mediation and received in total $7400. Yes that's right, it cost me over $4400, out of my pocket, for a simple child support and modification case. Do not trust her when she quotes an amount because she changes it later.

Unfortunately, this client chose to write a negative and untruthful review after my assistant politely contacted her regarding her arbitrary refusal to pay her remaining balance with the firm. If this client wanted to handle this child support enforcement and modification herself and avoid paying legal fees, she could have done so. However, she chose to retain counsel and freely signed a Fee Agreement which very clearly stated our hourly rates and further stated that it is impossible to estimate total fees at the outset of a case based on an infinite variety of factors as every case is different. I voluntarily and without request discounted thousands of dollars from her invoices as a courtesy to a single mother supporting two children, I secured $3,000.00 from her ex-husband towards her attorney's fees, the settlement at mediation was well over $18,000.00, which was significantly higher than her ex-husband's actual arrears, and I got her ex-husband to agree to pay all mediator's fees so this client would not need to worry about any additional expenses. I worked with this client and allowed her to make payments toward her invoices over many months instead of requesting payment in full. This client paid $6,440.00 in legal fees, not $7,400.00 as stated (which will actually be $4,440.00 after the additional $2,000.00 towards attorney's fees is paid to her by her ex-husband via the structured settlement agreement). At no point in time did I ever tell this client that the amount her ex was "agreeing to should cover the remaining balance," nor did I ever change my fee structure. I have very little control over how long a case will ultimately take to come to conclusion, especially since this client wanted to avoid a costly motion hearings and depositions, so I did my best to work amicably with a non-cooperative pro-se ex-husband who subsequently became represented by counsel and amended his pleadings prior to mediation. Leaving negative and defamatory reviews online will not absolve this client from what is legitimately owed to the Firm after her case was resolved very much in her favor thanks to significant effort and time spent on her case.

Courteous & Professional

I hired Amy to help with my unemployment case when my former employer was refusing to cooperate. She was very patient and helpful with all of my concerns, and helped put my mind at ease. Everything was taken care of in a timely manner and the case was decided in my favor. I couldn't have asked for... any more.

Best interests of clients not so much

I retained this attorney for a custody matter. She did not have much knowledge with the procedures of the court. She also did not have the best interest of our case and was more worried about opposing counsel courtesy than the best interests of the case and moving it along. She continued to award... time in a case where a conflict had arose.
