Robert Leon Tankel

For years, our condo association used attorneys who continually charged us for filing liens (annually) on properties and never collected a penny for us. Then we met Bob Tankel and have used him continually for over 3 years. We rarely are billed for any fees; yet Tankel's office has collected thousa...nds of dollars for us and provided sound advice on myriad matters. Once our condo association adopted the "no tolerance" philosophy Mr. Tankel recommended, many owners who failed to pay their monthly assessments realized that they could NOT choose to pay us last after the cable co and cell phone provider unless they wanted to risk losing their condo. Tankel's office treats us with the utmost respect, and everyone I have worked with on his staff is responsive and knowledgable. I highly recommend him to any condo association who wants to keep bad debt at a minimum.

There seems to be no middle ground regarding Mr. Tankel. He is a creative, out of the box thinker, which the bar apparently doesn't like. He is the ONLY association lawyer who has challenged bogus foreclosures and even has set several aside with co-counsel at NO CHARGE, so the case got dismissed. Thi...s allowed the owner to pay our association or face our foreclosure. He is the only lawyer I know who advances all fees and costs and only bills at the end of the case. In over 90% of our cases we have never seen a bill, only checks, which makes our CAM that much happier, no legal expenses, no legal income to track. He and his team work hard to get results for us. He and his team also handle general counsel, amendments rule enforcement, etc. We have been very happy with his work over the 20+ years we have used him.

I emailed and left a voice message with John Stolar on a property issue, and he never returned my phone calls, as he only responsed by email. He did not understand what I was asking for, and was unwillingly to understand my situation. When I asked for certain documentation he did not provide exactl...y what I was looking for, and since he did not return my phone calls I was unable to speak with him to fully undertstand myself. I have not dealt with many lawyers, however, I do feel that Mr. Stolar's professionalism and knowledge left much to be desired.
