worked with ms grey at the public defenders office-witnessed her hunger and passion to defend for several years. never saw her without her pd armor on. having said that, the process in drug court is quite different than what normally occurs in the criminal divisions. cases are staffed amongst the par...ticipating parties(judge, sao, probation, treatment team, etc) and the direction of a case is determined at this time. these staffings occur prior to the actual docket, so there is quite a bit that goes on that no one sees. i wanted to share this in reference to the displeasure someone recently shared. :)

I got arrested on the east coast. When I was arrested they discovered I had an outstanding warrant in Pasco county. I was assigned a public defender. It was Monica Grey. I got arrested for felony possession of marijuana and was concerned about my future so decided to contact lawyers. After a few days I stumbled across denmon and denmon. I inquired about their services and was told it would be 2000 dollars which was cheaper than anyone else. When I got there I met wit...h Monica grey, someone who I never heard of on any of the information I was looking into. She was nice and explained what she could do and I agreed that this would be the best option, I was wrong. Court was scheduled a few months after my arrest and she showed up a half an hour before court and said she couldn't stay because she was busy, wtf, so I paid to represent myself. I was talking to everyone at court and they said the judge offerd this program, drug court, to every first time offender whether or not they have a lawyer. After hearing that I felt like I wasted 2000 dollars because I did. I hope this information helps one other person not spend thousands extra in a time in their life they need every cent.
