Brendan Russell Riley

I had the good fortune of becoming acquainted with Mr. Riley after I was involved in an auto accident with a person who seemed to think the truth was synonymous with fiction. The accident happened on a dark night in St. Pete. After coming to a full stop at an intersection controlled by a two-way stop... sign, I carefully sighted in both directions, then proceeded to drive across 4th Street. The last thing I heard before the impact was screeching brakes. At first, being in a dazed state, I couldn’t reconcile how this could have happened, considering how diligent I had been in checking if it was safe to proceed. After being taken by ambulance to the ER, I was told that I had suffered a concussion along with bruised ribs and a few lacerations. I spoke with the offices of at least a dozen attorneys, but none of them would take my case without a substantial retainer fee because I was the one considered at fault. I became dismayed, especially after seeing the slick TV commercials from lawyers all too eager to represent someone involved in an auto accident. This is when I remembered that a friend had told me about how he was involved in an accident in which his insurance company refused to compensate him. He then hired an attorney who took his case on a contingency basis, and he received a settlement larger than what he had originally requested. I contacted him, and he told me the attorney’s name was Brendan Riley. Hopeful, I gave Mr. Riley’s office a call. He wasn’t available, so the receptionist asked about the circumstances. She informed me that Mr. Riley would soon get in touch with me. After my experience with the other lawyers, I was surprised to receive a return call within an hour. It was Mr. Riley himself, not a paralegal screening for premium cases. He arranged for me to come in that very afternoon. He was very pleasant and eager to hear my side of the story. As I explained the series of events leading up to the accident, he listened intently. Then he stared back at me with a startled look of anticipation and asked, Were his headlights on? At that moment, I realized what had happened. I didn’t see the vehicle because it was black, on a moonless night with no streetlights, and most likely speeding. Surprised, I exclaimed, “That’s it! Within a few days, Mr. Riley had his private investigator contact businesses located in the vicinity of the accident, and sure enough, he obtained video of the accident showing a speeding vehicle with no headlights crashing into my car. Mr. Riley provided the video evidence he obtained to the other driver’s insurance company, and within a month, not only were the damages to my vehicle and medical bills paid for, but I also received a settlement large enough to put a substantial down payment on the house I’m now living in. I will forever be grateful to Mr. Riley for doing what the other attorneys refused to do and rescuing me from what at the time appeared to be a hopeless situation.
