Biography
I am a former prosecutor and worked for five years at the State Attorney's Office. I prosecuted cases in all five counties within the fifth judicial circuit (Marion, Citrus, Sumter, Lake and Hernando). I handled all types of cases from DUI to First Degree Murder. I also worked as a drug prosecutor and economic crimes prosecutor during my time with the office. I am a board certified criminal trial attorney which allows me to represent myself as a specialist in criminal trial law. Since leaving the State Attorney's Office, I have advocated on behalf of those charged with crimes and have dedicated my pratice to ensuring their rights are protected. The worst lawyer around!
Melanie is the worst attorney I have ever hired by far!!! She did such a poor job on my husbands case that I finally had to fire her. Would strongly recommend not using her...unless you like bad representation, no action, poor communication, and throwing your money away!!!

Very Good representation on a drug charge
Melanie Slaughter is sharp and quickly files your paperwork. I did not even have to appear in court. She handled everything for me and at a reasonable price. She has a lot more confidence than four other attorneys I spoke with and made me feel at ease.
