I am thankful to have been represented by Eric Evilsizer from the Whittle & Melton Law Firm. Mr. Evilsizer provided me his personal cellphone number and updated me regularly either through voice or text messages regarding the status of my case. I was given excellent and detailed council that ultimately resulted in a favorable end to my court proceeding without ever stepping inside the courthouse by getting the case dismissed. I was charged with DUI in November 2019. My reading was slightly over the limit. I had a consultation with him and he told me that he could get the charge reduced to reckless driving, which is what was hoping to hear. He charged me $2000 up front and just before I left he got me to sign a retainer, ...which I didn't have time to read. He filed a request for a hardship license, for 6 weeks, which I could have done myself. When it expired he told me he could not get an extension, so my license was suspended. I was ordered to appear in court in February 2020 but he did not appear so my hearing was deferred. This went on for the next 18 months. He kept claiming that the state attorney would not answer his calls. Whenever I called him he would not answer the phone. I eventually called and left a message in July 2021, telling him that I was going to contact the state attorney myself and within a week he was able to get hold of the state attorney and have the charge reduced. In July 2021. I appeared in court and he was not there to represent me. While my case was being heard the judge noticed that he had not signed the paperwork. In order for the case to be resolved I had to fire him. My advice to anybody who needs to hire an attorney is stay clear of this man.
