Biography
Robert Hoffman, is an attorney with over thirty years experience in family, civil and criminal law. A resident of Sarasota, Florida for twenty-three years, Mr. Hoffman is a graduate of Fordham University and New York Law School. For over nine years, Mr. Hoffman was a trial court law clerk to the judiciary of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, Florida which includes Sarasota, Manatee and Desoto Counties. In his position with the Circuit Court, Mr. Hoffman personally researched and wrote thousands of orders for the judiciary on criminal cases from the least serious cases to death penalty cases. Mr. Hoffman was promoted to Child Support Hearing Officer/Magistrate in 2008, where he made rulings on thousands of child support cases and other family court matters. Mr. Hoffman, in addition to being admitted to the Florida Bar, is also admitted to the New York State Bar, and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator. Mr. Hoffman is also a Florida Notary, Certified Signing Agent and a Florida Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. Mr. Hoffman achieved certification in the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Mr. Hoffman began his legal career in Queens, New York City and moved to Florida in 1995. Mr. Hoffman practiced in Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Hillsborough and Citrus county, Florida prior to his moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1998. Mr. Hoffman is a member of the Sarasota Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Sarasota Chapter. Mr. Hoffman’s personal interests outside the law are running 5K’s, travel. Mr Hoffman is a member of the Sertoma Club of Sarasota.
