Filing bankruptcy is a very serious decision, and it requires accurate and detailed information about one's financial history - information the Client must generally provide. We use a software program to make it easier for our Clients to gather and submit that information to us for processing. We also have a "paper packet" available for our Clients who would prefer to complete the process by hand. We assist our Clients in gathering the information to some degree, but yes, generally the Client must "track down" this information. It would be difficult, if not impossible, and certainly not cost-effective for us to gather the bulk of that information for the Client. After the information is submitted, I, not the software, evaluate it and advise my Client accordingly. I do not advise anyone file bankruptcy without the assistance of experienced counsel.
