Real estate law has always been of particular interest to me, and I focus my practice in all areas involving real estate, including community association law. Each real estate parcel is unique and special, just as each condo, co-op and homeowner's association is unique.
My roots are in the south. I grew up in Talladega, Alabama. My grandfather was the sports editor for the Tuscaloosa News, and I was by his side for many a game cheering on the Crimson Tide. I met my wife while we were both college counselors for a youth church camp, and after attending Duke and then Tulane University Law School , we settled in Naples, Florida where my wife has family. We continue to be active in my current church in Naples, , teaching sunday school. I am also the proud father to two sons who share my love of fishing, camping, and the great outdoors.
My practice of law and I am one of a handful of local attorneys who have significant land use and zoning experience, working with the local and state municipalities on behalf of clients.
Community association law also is filled with the many challenges each community holds. Master associations, sub associations, budgets, vendor disputes, annual meetings, and document rewrites all will impact an association, and I enjoy assisting the Board of Directors as well as the Property Managers in the communities we serve as legal counsel of record.
And finally, real estate sales, be they commercial or residential, are such large dollar volume that each must be given proper due diligence and oversight. I represent either buyers or sellers in achieving my clients needs.
