As a former law enforcement officer defense attorneys were not normally on my friends list. A few years ago I got involved in a situation that required me to contact a criminal defense attorney. Scott Weinberg is the absolute best choice for a criminal defense attorney. In November 2014, I was charged with a misdemeanor "Resisting Arrest without Violence" and "Possession of Marijuana under 20 Grams". My fiance was charged with a felony "Assault with a Deadly Weapon" and a misdemeanor "Batter...y-Touch or Strike" I had never been arrested before, and my fiance had quite an extensive record, and had just been previously released from prison. We had originally hired another lawyer in December of 2014. He had been working on our case for 8 months, he was completely incompetent and uneducated. The state was offering me probation and my fiance 24 months D.O.C. "prison". We dismissed this lawyer in June of 2015, because our original lawyer believed we should take both of the original plea agreements. In June of 2015 we hired Mr. Weinberg because he was referred to us as "a pit-bull in court" . He worked with us financially because, we hired him on such short notice. We had less than a month before both of our cases went to trial. In 48 hours he had done more work in both of our cases than our previous lawyer had done in 8 months. He is confident, competent, well educated, and knows how to handle the state attorneys. In three weeks after hiring Mr. Weinberg my fiance plead out to a misdemeanor "Breech of Peace" and received credit time served for the 24 hours he was in jail before he bonded out. My case was completely dismissed by the state. Although our cases did not make it to trial, he was well prepared and ready to take our case to trial. Obviously the state recognized this and deferred from pursuing anymore criminal charges against us. There is no doubt in my mind that he would have won both cases in a jury trial if it came to that. However I was 8 months pregnant at the time, and neither my fiance or I wanted to take our case to trial. We are so thankful that we hired Scott Weinberg. The other year I was charged with a DUI. I was recommended to Scott by a friend who Scott previously defended in a similar case. In our meetings Scott thoroughly explained the process and mentioned to me that he would file a motion to suppress. After filing and arguing the motion to suppress my DU...I was thrown out. I had been going through a rough time and the dismissal of my case really helped.
