Do not send an elderly or sick parent to Kevin A. Kyle

**STOP. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER USING KEVIN A KYLE, READ THIS.** My mother was fighting four types of cancer, including brain cancer, when she came to this firm. She told our family she wanted one thing: change the percentages in her existing will so my special needs sister would get more and be set u...p for life after my mother was gone. A few simple changes. That's it. Here's what she got instead. Not an amendment. Not a codicil. A brand-new 29-page revocable trust. As her son and the person she named to handle her estate, I didn't learn about it until the draft showed up in my inbox. Her first appointment was May 23, 2025. The first draft I can find in her email arrived October 22, 2025. Five months. By then she was in and out of the hospital. She died on November 4. Thirteen days later. There was no time left to fix anything. The attorney behind this advertises himself as Florida Board Certified in both Wills, Trusts & Estates and Tax. The document he created refers to my sister's benefits from the "State of California." My mother lived in Florida. My sister lives in Florida and has never set foot in California. It misspells my other sister's name throughout. It gets my name wrong. My sister already had a special needs trust, created years ago for exactly this purpose, and my mother's will already directed her share into it. All that needed to change was the percentage. Instead, the firm wrote a brand-new special needs trust into a brand-new document. More documents, more drafting, more hours. You can draw your own conclusions. It gets worse. The draft includes pages on operating her businesses, forming partnerships, S-corporation stock, and trading securities on margin. She had no business. No partners. She wasn't trading on margin. She was a retired woman fighting cancer who wanted to take care of her disabled daughter. When I found out, I told them to stop. She asked for an edit to her will, not a brand-new trust. She never signed a single page. After she died, they billed her estate. I asked for the engagement agreement she signed. The attorney wrote back that there was no formal retainer or document, and that he "generally take[s] people at their word they are going to pay." I asked for itemized billing on December 4, 2025. It never came. Nearly ten months later, I still don't know what they claim to have spent their time on. Then they filed a claim against her estate, and her estate could not be closed until it was resolved. Ask yourself a few questions before even thinking of hiring this "firm": Why does a simple percentage change on an existing will turn into a 29-page trust? Why build a new special needs trust when one already existed? Why does it take five months to email a draft to a woman fighting four cancers? Why does a double board-certified attorney's Florida estate plan cite California? Why does a retired cancer patient's plan include margin trading? Why is there no written agreement with a seriously ill client? Why is a dead woman's estate paying for documents she never signed, on a bill the attorney won't even itemize? All the problems point back to the same place. My mother's last wish was to leave more to my sister. That never happened. Now I'm paying my own attorneys to clean up what's left of what should have been a simple change. She spent her last months fighting for her life. She wanted to know my sister would be taken care of. This firm turned that into a 29-page trust she never signed, then sent the bill to her estate after she died. If you have an elderly or sick parent, do not send them here. Not for a quick update. Not for a simple change. Not for anything.
