I was born in Brooklyn , New York and resided for a period of time in the Bronx and Rockland County outside the city. Upon graduation from high school I worked on the assembly line for the Ford Motor Company. Realizing that was extremely hard and not my cup of tea, I took a position with the New York State Dept of Corrections as an officer. Shortly after that I became a Police Officer in Westchester County. From there I moved to Florida. I started in the law enforcement field. I worked Patrol, then as a Field Training Officer. i was promoted to the Homicide Division of the Sheriff's Office. I attended law school while employed as a detective. During this tenure I was blessed with two beautiful children. My oldest son Tommy graduated from high school and became a combat medic for the army and volunteered to deploy to Iraq. This was a hard time for our family worrying about him consatntly. He made it home safely and became a Police Officer. My daugher Demi just graduated from law school and works in the Capitol, Tallahassee. 1998 was an extremely hard year. I was divorced and became a single parent. Working, going to school, coaching my childrens' sports. In 2001 I started dating my love and my wife Deyanira (Jennie). In 2005 we were married and became a blended family of 5. We then had a child together. My friends call us the Brady Bunch.
In 2009 I opened my own law firm. Law school teaches you the law but not how to run a law firm. I trusted my employees and did not supervise them properly. In turn I have been sanctioned by the BAR in the past. i have learned from my mistakes and will continue to grow professionally and personally. I'm proud to say over the years I have picked over a 100 juries with success in criminal matters. In the family court I have done over 200 trials with much success.
My life experiences including professional and personal have contributed to my success. Going through a divorce and parenting issues was an eye opener. I truly understand my clients needs. Employed as an investigator gives me an edge in criminal matters. i know what police are thinking. I know collection of evidence, crime scenes, and whether an arrest was lawful or not.
I will continue to make mistakes. But with mistakes comes learning and success. This year has been a monumental year. Many criminal case dismissals. Many divorce trial wins. I hope to maintain my winning streak and function a way a law firm should.
