I went to Mr. Cohen for a free consultation in bankruptcy. I visited several other attorneys who advertised free consultation but the difference between those attorneys and Mr. Cohen was immediate. He spent an hour with me and my husband. We were treated as people and not a number. He also worked... with us for at least 6 months without being paid to plan and prepare for filing the right chapter bankruptcy. We thought we would have to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy but with Mr. Cohen's patience and expertise we filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. All the other attorneys were quick to get us to file a Chapter 13 which is more money for them. We finally have our discharge the past week and I extremely satisfied with Mr. Cohen. I can't emphasize how different he is from other attorneys. He calls you back right away. He answers all your questions right away. He doesn't just take your money and then forget about you. I highly recommend him and I have to other friends and family on other legal matters besides bankruptcy. He is a good guy.

Hire this guy. Otherwise, Stay away. Left a deposit in which I was assured would be refunded if we decided not to file. Refuses to give me my money back citing an extremely erroneous amount of "work" he did in the case despite the fact that we never filled out any paperwork regarding our financial si...tuation whatsoever. Claims our creditors were calling him which is a 100% lie as we never told a single creditor we were considering bankruptcy and absolutely did not give out his name to any of them. Basically, he lied in the initial 15 minute meeting and us now making up charges so he doesn't have to return the money he didn't earn. Extremely unethical

Even though I had a free bankruptcy consultation with Mr. Cohen, he spent over an hour with me discussing my legal options He relieved my concerns. About a month later I decided to hire him. I received my discharge about 4 months later without any problems. He always answered my questions either... by email or phone call. I have referred him to my friends and family.
