Biography
Since becoming an attorney in 1978, Bruce Howie has represented over 2,500 citizens accused of criminal offenses in the Tampa Bay area and has been the lead or sole trial attorney in 121 criminal jury trials in state and federal court, most of them felonies, in addition to hundreds of non-jury trials and hearings. He has argued criminal appeals before the Florida Supreme Court, the Florida Second District Court of Appeal, and the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and is also a member of the bar for the United States Supreme Court. Bruce Howie has been a Florida Bar Board Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer since 1988. He is a former adjunct professor of consitutional law at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. This background over the past 33 years makes him one of the most experienced criminal defense attorneys in the Tampa Bay area.
