Stephen Charles Maltezos

I can't begin to thank Mr. Maltezos enough! I was arrested Feb. Of 2018 for DUI, the first laywer I called actually recommended Maltezos to me instead because I made it clear I needed someone who could be totally hands on with my case (had bad luck with previous lawyer not being very involved at all)... and he exceeded all expectations. I'm certain if I had Maltezos for my first arrest, things would have went completely different. He is a genuinely great guy who truly does have concern for his clients well being, he treats you like a good friend rather than just another client. Theres was never any moment throughout all my pre trials where I didn't feel prepared, he was involved the entire time and kept me updated the moment he found out any further details. He doesn't sit there and sugar coat anything like many others may do, he let me know we were going into an all out war and it was going to be tough as hell, my case was certainly not an easy one but he made things go as smoothly as possible. After multiple rejections from the state to reduce my case, it was clear we needed to go to a full jury trial. Of course that's nerve racking and scary as all hell, but Maltezos made me feel 110% confident and comfortable that we were going to win my case, and we did!! The penalties I was facing were going to be completely devastating to my life in many ways, but we never lost sight of winning. It was a day I will never ever forget, and even with having all his other clients and just living his own life, he was able to put so much time and effort into my case, I owe a life time of thanks to Mr. Maltezos. The prosecutors were some of the absolute most pretentious and heartless humans ive ever interacted with, doing anything and everything they could to make me look terrible because I looked great on video, Maltezos stepped in and got tons of their BS "evidence" removed, which I truly believe was a massive contributing factor to our win. Stephen Maltezos is the man!! Absolutely fantastic guy and I would recommend him to anyone, everyone going through the stuff I was, deserves a Laywer like him. 110% satisfied. Thank you Maltezos!!!

I caught my 3rd DUI summer 2016 which is a Felony charge. I'm a professional single female with a child with everything to lose. Due to the circumstances of my case in which a 3rd DUI is a felony, time, and suspension of your license for YEARS, Stephen was able to reduce my case to a 1st with a 6 mon...th suspension and $500 fine with early termination of probation with no monitoring of any sort. Prior to hiring Stephen, I have a method when it comes to hiring a lawyer because .... I mean lets face it, their skill set is to negotiate and sway you and can sell you a dream to collect your funds and then you're stuck, especially if you do not have the means to afford another to represent you because you spent all your money on the first one. I interview them. I ask them about their work load. I ask them about fellow lawyers I've already interviewed to see where their mind set is at. I automatically disregard anyone who trashes another because what I look for is detail. Stephen was the only one who said he didn't have the time to worry about another because he was focused solely on his. I was sold. Now, the negatives, since I have to be honest .... when Stephen is working on your case, he does not do a lot of out reach but he will always respond by email or in a response call. Its understandable as a client to be scared and you may feel when you don't hear from your lawyer that they are not taking action. That is how I felt. I also felt maybe he was selling me a dream as I had no way to verify he was really doing what he said he was doing. Towards the end of my case when the negotiations were at its peak, Stephen told me what I was facing. I PRESSED him out and although he told me he did the best he could do he still went back to the prosecutor with anything I wasn't satisfied with; for example, I have to serve 25 days, (which I will eat up over a felony and a year and 3-10 years of revocation of a license) I had a pretty tough judge in Hillsborough, (Judge Farr) and I asked Stephen if I have to do the time please negotiate for weekends. Stephen advised me this was not do-able and I had a gut feeling he wasn't telling me the truth. When Stephen and I were discussing my case we started speaking with a lawyer passing by, it was verified by others Judge Farr is the only judge on floor 2 that will not let you do weekends (lucky me) either way, Stephen was able to get the prosecutor to allow me to serve the time at some point during probation so I was able to get my affairs in order. I have used up my PTO (Wahhhh) but I am able to still keep my career and support my family. Stephen worked my case to where I will do the bare minimum and would not be affected too much personally. Stephen has a hyper demeanor and you may feel like he's not listening but his mind is rapid and probably 10 steps ahead of you. As far as his staff. Fabulous. Everything is timely in the portal they use as far as payment processing and communication and scheduling. His staff will promptly relay messages and answer any questions if they can. Stephens rate was also about 1,000 cheaper than other lawyers I interviewed. Between Stephen and his team it really is a dream team. I highly recommend AT LEAST consulting with this man because when he speaks it seems too good to be true however, he does deliver. I will say that if anything were ever to occur again in my life I will definitely be hiring this man again and recommending him to anyone facing legal troubles.

I hired attorney Maltezos to represent me on a DUI (2nd one) and possesion case in March after being referred to him by my best friends girlfriend. I was really embarassed about what happened and I was in denial for a while until I realized that the public defender was not doing anything for me. Hired him for a DUI case. I met him and he was very nice and genuine so I decided to hire him for my case. I had to leave the country and I spoke to him and he assured me everything would be fine and he would help me follow up with the case and confer with the judge so I could start my probation when... I got back. As soon as I gave him the last payment and the judge passed the sentence he never contacted me after. It was a hassle to get a hold of him through email and I was still away. By the time I got back there was a warrant out for me and the police came to arrest me. This was his fault because he never told me anything and on top of it all he wanted me to pay him a grand so he could represent me again when he triggered the situation. I consulted other lawyers for my case and they all said the situation could have been avoided had he done his job better. My advice before you take him is to make sure you have met with other lawyers because even money wise he isn't the cheapest or the best option
