Mr. Hiepe earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Florida in Tampa and his Juris Doctor from Stetson College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. He has been practicing law since 1981. In 1998 he redirected his practice to the area of consumer bankruptcy, and has limited his practice to filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies since that time. He has filed over 3,000 bankruptcies during his career. He emphasizes personal representation of all of his clients while assisting them in rebuilding their financial lives through the bankruptcy process. Mr. Hiepe operates consumer bankruptcy offices in St. Petersburg and Lakeland.
Mr. Hiepe has been previously appointed as a Chapter 7 Trustee by the Office of the United States Trustee (a branch of the United States Department of Justice). As a Chapter 7 Trustee, Mr. Hiepe was responsible for presiding over Section 341 Meetings of Creditors along with handling various court hearings associated with those Chapter 7 Trustee cases.
He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney’s (NACBA), American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association (TBBBA), American Bar Association (ABA), National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees (NACTT), St. Petersburg Bar Association (SPBA), Lakeland Bar Association (LBA) and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Christian Chamber of Commerce – Tampa Bay (C3TB).
He has participated as a lecturer to other attorneys on the topics of consumer bankruptcy and ethics before the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association (TBBBA) and the St. Petersburg Bar Association (SPBA).
He has previously been appointed by The Florida Bar Board of Governors to act as a member of the Florida Bar Fee Arbitration Committee for the Sixth Judicial Circuit. He has also been previously appointed by The Florida Bar as an Inventory Attorney, entrusted to oversee the appropriate closing of a law practice of a sanctioned attorney.
Mr. Hiepe is a lifelong resident of Pinellas County and has had family ties to Pinellas and Polk counties. He resides in Pinellas County with his wife and their son. They are long-time active members of their church and are involved in several Christian ministries.
