THANK YOU GOD THAT I FOUND DAVID HURVITZ

Most people use a lawyer to review a real estate contract or prepare a will, but over their lifetimes rarely need a lawyer for trial. Before I expound on how special David is, let me share the biggest challenges that I had with 4 different lawyers for my divorce, alimony termination case, and appeal.... In fact, these challenges were more than common annoyances, as I am confident that I lost all legal battles because the lawyers were juggling too many cases and cared more about their # of billable hours than my outcome, or they were simply incompetent: 1 – DOCUMENTS – I could never get copies of the documents being sent between the lawyer, the court and the opposing counsel. In other words, the lawyers were making decisions – without me – on my strategy and tactics to implement it. With David, what a pleasure it is to have every document emailed to me before he submits it. He always makes sure that I understand the doc, understands our goals, understands the legal process, and asks if I have input to change the doc 2 – COMMUNICATIONS – Trying to communicate with a lawyer after signing their retainer agreement was so difficult that it hurts to recall the many hoops that I had to go through with receptionists, secretaries, emails and voice-mails – just to get a status. Once again, what a delight it is to simply text or email David, get a response, or if the issue requires more discussion, David simply responds with his schedule, so that he could call at a later time to chat further 3 – BILLING – How dare lawyers “pad” their bills. For example, a bill would have $47 line items for reading each email. When I checked out why, I was told that once my email was received by the lawyer, it was printed out, put on the lawyer’s desk, then, the lawyer read it and dictated a response. Then, the secretary listened to the dictation and prepared a letter AND email, and sent them back to me. Are you kidding? This gets to be quite expensive and is an example of the many hidden tactics that lawyers use to “double-bill.” With David, what a surprise it was to have his billing reflect his “true” efforts to support me 4 – EMOTIONAL SUPPORT – During a trial, it was surprise to find out that our legal system is archaic, simple-minded and even childlike. In other words, judges can ignore the law and rule whatever they want – over and above legislation, case law and evidence. Because of David’s human nature, it was very nice to have him there to handle my anguish when the system did not work for me Finally, I can’ say enough on David’s values. His parents created a monument. Additionally, his intellect, recall on the law, and research capabilities are fabulous. I was proud to have found a critical thinker that truly cared about me, my case, and the results that we wanted to achieve.
