Biography
Matthew L. Wilson is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. This distinction places Mr. Wilson in the top 1% of all attorneys in Florida with respect to civil trial expertise. Board Certification is the only criteria sanctioned by the Florida Bar to recognize experts in the field of Civil Trial Law and only those lawyers who are Board Certified can hold themselves out as experts or specialists in the field of Civil Trial Law.
Mr. Wilson is also an AV Preeminent-rated lawyer who has been practicing in both the private and public sectors since 1996. He joined Marshall Thomas Burnett in 2011, where his area of focus centered largely on the prosecution of first property insurance disputes. Prior to joining Marshall Thomas Burnett, Mr. Wilson worked for eight years at a well-regarded Tampa law firm focusing his practice primarily on the defense of auto accident, premises liability, and complex civil liability claims. Mr. Wilson has also prepared several appellate briefs in both State and Federal Court and has argued before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Wilson is also a former prosecutor, having begun his career working at the Office of Bernie McCabe in Pinellas County, Florida.
Mr. Wilson has tried nearly 100 trials to verdict and is proud to dedicate his practice to helping homeowners and the injured recover for damages they have suffered.
