Very knowledgeable concerning military divorce

Chris and his team were very well versed in the divorce process as it pertained to military retirement and equitable distribution. His legal advice was critical to making sound decisions for my future post-divorce.

Thank you Chris & Amazing Staff

Chris and his team helped me through the most difficult time in my life. Never having gone through a divorce … Chris and Stephanie did a wonderful job, keeping me informed and staying on top of everything. I can honestly say that Chris holds no mercy for the opposing side and goes hard for his client...s. After all was said and done, I was pleased in my overall outcome and final judgement. Though, this process was tough for my children and I, when I look back, I’m so happy Chris was on my side, fighting for me.

Good service

The Law Firm provided great assistance working through my divorce. They were always available to provide guidance when I needed it and worked very well with me as we tried different strategies to resolve my case.

One of the BEST FAMILY LAW ATTORNEYS IN TAMPA!!

Chris was the second attorney I hired in my divorce proceedings and unfortunately the damage had already been done by the first firm I hired to represent me. Uncontested false DV accusations were too big a hole to climb out of, but Chris nearly pulled it off against one of the top attorney's in the T...ampa area. When Chris came onboard he was energetic, aggressive, extremely knowledgable of family law and his calm confidence had me convinced the outcome would be in my favor despite the horrible counsel I previously obtained. Had I hired Chris from the start I'm 100% certain my ex would've never been allowed to relocate and I'd currently be enjoying 50/50 time sharing with my children. Unfortunately, fathers always start a few steps behind in divorce proceedings. Chris knows this and has the tools and experience to even the odds and give you the best chance possible. Don't make the mistakes I did. Hire Chris from the start and put one of the best attorney's in Tampa on your side. He's worth every penny. I should also I add that since the divorce was finalized (5 years ago) I've called Chris numerous times for advice and he's ALWAYS taken my calls and steered me in the right direction. There's no better feeling than knowing Chris is on your side and ready to give his all at a moments notice.

DO NOT HIRE

Mr. Ragano failed to advocate for my family as he allowed opposing counsel to dictate the course of our highly contested divorce primarily involving (documented) parental alienation and child custody. He did not demonstrate any ability or interest to battle very capable opposing counsel who was qui...te successful in getting the best deal for her client. Mr. Ragano failed to make agreed upon changes in court regarding the Parenting Plan, refused to challenge witnesses or my ex when they lied under oath, refused to challenge my ex and his claim of an exorbitant financial loss in a very successful cash business, refused to hold opposing counsel to task in her agreement (on two separate occasions in court) to provide receipts of alleged expenses totaling 20k in medical expenses for two perfectly healthy children, lost my proof of debt/financial documents which were not entered as exhibits, charged for phone conversations which did not exist (easily proved on a cell phone) and had his bookkeeper handle phone calls and questions regarding his failure to properly assess our retirements while in and out of court. In addition, the bookkeeper would forward emails to me straight from opposing counsel showing Mr. Ragano would cater to her absurd demands and threats as he would simply agree to whatever she wanted which would solely benefit her client. Keep in mind he claims "zero" in Florida Bar complaints, however, the week I filed mine, I was told I was the second one in the same week who filed a complaint against him. Be aware verbal reprimands and sanctions are only visible for a year and then disappear. During a highly contested divorce, one would expect and depend on the attorney to have a strong, aggressive personality and be competent enough to recognize the tricks, half truths, deception, creativity, omissions, and loopholes opposing counsel used to "win" their case as clearly she was very well versed and at our family's expense (literally and figureatively), Mr. Ragano was no match. In fact, my ex still thanks me for hiring him as he got everything he wanted. Attorney Ragano claims to "handle the toughest cases" but refused to participate in advocating for my children who didn't have a voice. The parental alienation was well documented and proven with pictures, emails, texts, hand written letters, police reports, and numerous depositions. I heard all the right things in the initial consult as my ex was threatening to take the kids to an unknown state and had access to unlimited financial resources. I desperately needed competent legal counsel to guide me through the games played by opposing counsel and help me with a legal the system I did not understand. Attorney Chris Ragano did not even try to protect my family and the consequences of his passiveness and incompetence will continue to be felt for years to come.

This is your second attempt to slander this firm with inaccurate information. It is unfortunate that when clients of the Law Firm of Chris E. Ragano do not achieve the results they want that they distort the facts of representation and how the case was handled because they have to blame someone instead of accepting responsibility themselves.  The blame is usually directed towards the attorney or law firm, because to accept any responsibility for the outcome of their own case would haunt them for the rest of their lives.  I, and the staff I employ, are staunch advocates for the rights and the best interests of our clients and what we consider to be their most precious assets, their children.  In this case, the client second guessed advice that was given by conferring with other individuals who were employed in the legal profession (not as attorneys but as support staff with little legal experience) but who do not have the 20+ years' experience that I have handling complex and highly contested marital and family law cases.  Anyone who reads this review would recognize that it was written not because I or my firm did not do the best job possible but, in spite of our hard work things did not go her way.  First and foremost it is my responsibility to listen to what the client is saying, and then discuss from an objective and unemotional stand point the strengths and weaknesses of their case and what I believe we can actually achieve.  Marital and family law cases are highly emotionally charged cases where clients only see their own perspective and not the overall picture.  After I remove the emotions from the case, I then strategize with the client to present the evidence to the Court so that an informed decision can be made by the Judge.  In essence, we can only take the facts as they exist and we have to wade through conjecture, emotions, and sometimes opinions of friends and relatives who are adding fuel to the clients' fire.  Those opinions are not based on law or precedent.  I will never distort or misrepresent the truth to the Court just to achieve the results that a client wants.   In reality to do so I am doing my client a disservice, not to mention the fact that I would never destroy my credibility as an officer of the Court.  As to the reviewer's comments regarding my appearance or lack of preparedness, anyone who has worked with me in the past twenty years' would tell you those comments are truly baseless and really just another attempt by the reviewer to attack my professionalism.  I am known throughout the legal community as a litigator who works tirelessly for my clients and I pride myself on being over prepared to represent my clients and achieve the best possible outcome for them and their children based on the true facts of a case, and not an emotional distortion presented by the client.  Other attorneys practicing marital and family law do not hesitate to refer cases which are complex or become contested to my office because they have confidence in my abilities as a litigator.   The Court makes the final determination on cases, and takes into considerations all evidence presented, including the mental health or any apparent mental deficits presented by the client during the course of the pending case. It is clear that based on the presentation that the client made, the Judge did waht it felt was in the best interests of the children, not what the mother wanteFinally with regard to the issue of a bar grievance, first the reviewed is incorrect that any reprimand by the bar stays on an attorney's grievance history for 10 years.  It does not simply "disappear".  The Florida Bar did investigate this matter and based upon the same facts presented in this review, with documentation from my office substantiating the work performed, the Florida Bar closed its investigation with a finding of no probable cause.  If you check my bar profile under grievance history you will plainly see that it says "none"

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I have known Chris for well over 20 years through litigation against him. He was always zealous and compelling. Of late I have been assigned on several of his cases as a Guardian ad Litem. In those cases I had the opportunity to observe him in court as a bystander. Chris is always respectful of the court, forceful when needed, and cognizant of what the court needed to hear. I admire Chris because too many attorneys lose sight of the children I represent. Chris has always heard me out and then addressed his clients when needed...all for the best interests of the children. When Chris and I litigated, even though he was zealous about his clients, he and I always managed to settle our differences and we came to peaceful resolutions that ultimately were in our clients' best interests. Chris has the knowledge to walk that line between litigation and settlement."
