J. Tony Lopez

J. Tony Lopez leads Taino Law Group in Tampa, where the firm focuses on helping people injured in car, truck, motorcycle and rideshare accidents, and on criminal defense.

Tony has practiced law since 2013. He was first admitted in Puerto Rico and joined The Florida Bar in 2016. He is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and appears in state courts throughout the Tampa Bay area.

For accident victims, Tony and his team handle the claim from the start: PIP and insurance claims, medical bills, property damage, negotiations with insurers and, when needed, litigation. On the criminal side, he defends clients facing DUI, drug, theft, violent and felony charges, with close attention to diversion, record sealing and expungement, and the immigration consequences of a plea.

Tony earned his law degree from Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Law. He is a member of the Florida Justice Association, the American Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He and his team serve clients in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
