Diego M. Pestana

I am a Florida attorney at the Suarez Law Firm, where my practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense, False Claims Act defense, government and internal investigations, and commercial litigation. Since joining the Suarez Law Firm, I have tried cases in state and federal court. I also have experience in various types of appeals, including academic appeals (university student disciplinary process) and appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

I joined the Suarez Law Firm after gaining extensive experience as a federal judicial law clerk, most recently at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

In addition to my criminal-defense practice, my legal interests include following the latest caselaw developments from the U.S. Supreme Court, federal circuit courts, and Florida appellate courts. I also follow legal news dealing with constitutional and criminal issues. I regularly contribute to the Suarez Law Firm's blog with my take on legal news and caselaw developments. And I follow and post on the latest in financial news, including cryptocurrency regulation.

I am an active member of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Tampa Hispanic Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Federalist Society. I am also an active parishoner of my Catholic parish and Church organizations.
