Thorough, articulate, compassionate

I hired David Caveda on a motion to vacate in a limited appearance capacity since I already had a family law attorney handling the bulk of my case for several years. David was very thorough and well articulated in his filing and his argument in court. He took the time to listen to me so that he co...uld understand my case and what I was dealing with, and he was upfront about our chances of success in court. Unfortunately, the judge we had was a POS and didn't give a rat's @ss about correcting errors in a final judgement. I do not fault David, but the judge (Michael S. Williams) Afterwards, David showed true compassion and empathy for me as a father and the injustice of the family court system. My only complaint is that David is somewhat hard to get in contact with via phone. All scheduling for his calls go through his office assistant. My other attorney is more easily available through call, text, or email through his cell phone. Not a deal breaker, but keep this in mind if you hire Mr Caveda.

Won Me Parental visitation and stopped a Non Contact for my Child

After my divorce settlement and me leaving the state; I was issued a no contact for my child because the other parent was lost within another person word and direction. Mr David got that no contact thrown out and me visitation with my child the day of court and the following Spring Break. I was worki...ng with Mr Caveda from NE Mississippi explaining I had been a FL Resident for almost 10 yrs. He worked with me, we work off the phone and one in office session to come away with a Blessed Justified Win over lies and down right nonsense. Amazing Lawyer and will be attaining again for more Representation.

Excellent!

Mr. Caveda helped me get my daughter back. He explained the process and the process went exactly as he said it would. He was outstanding and i cannot stress enough how thorough and professional he was. I would highly recommend him!

Defense of Petition to Relocate

My ex-wife petitioned the court to relocate with my daughter ... to Japan. Although it is a signatory, Japan does not readily and normally cooperate with the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction. Adding to that the fact that the Hague Convention only applies to children removed "illegall...y", if my ex received permission from the court to take my daughter there, I likely would have never seen her again. Japanese courts "take" jurisdiction for such cases. I would have had to travel to Japan, hired a Japanese lawyer, and pursued the matter through Japanese court. Bottom line is, if my daughter was taken to Japan, our relationship would've been permanently severed. As a disabled vet, single parent, and full-time student, I had no idea how I would pay for any lawyer to see the case through to completion. David knew this but he took on my case anyways. He promised to work with me on the money ... and he did. We won. David saved my relationship with my daughter. He frequently caught my ex in many of her web of lies. He successfully addressed all the points of consideration in a relocation case. He told me what he had to tell me and didn't blow smoke up my dress. He met me at times and for lengths of time that were likely not very convenient for him to prep for hearings. He always appeared in court prepared to litigate with a good grasp on the issues. I was very impressed and am very grateful to David. I would recommend David to anyone who wants to preserve their relationship with his/her child. There are many scumbag lawyers out there. I honestly believe David is an exception to the rule. THANK YOU, DAVID!!!!!!!

Honest and Professional

In the realm of family law I learned it's important, yet no so easy to gong an honest lawyer that won't add stress to the process. Atty. Caveda was sincere, professional, in tune with current statutes and invested just enough in getting to know about the workings of my family life to service my case.... While my hope is to never need representation again, I would entrust him with the process if so.
