As a former deputy prosecutor, I felt he was still working for and with the prosecutors on my family’s case as a public defender. It saddened me to not receive calls back, learn of data he would not submit in my family members behalf at the hearing (important police reports and information about the... accusers that might have changed the outcome). He TOLD THE JUDGE that he tried to call us but couldn’t get in touch - further prejudicing her against me. Spoke softly to the judge and never looked at our family. The young man he represented in court just before our family was sentenced to over 100 years, then our family member received over 80 years - in less than 1hr two young people’s lives ended and NO ONE WAS MURDERED and tons of circumstantial evidence was left unpresented. Families walked away devastated. He seemed unfettered. It is clear that the agenda of you do not pay for any attorney, and the system does not keep a score card, you can fall into the belief that Prosecutors are on one side and Defenese attorneys are on another - but you’ll never know how they might work together for a particular agenda. As a former prosecutor, I have my doubts about his effort or interest when working Pro Bono. Maybe he is better as a paid attorney, but I saw him sit there unmoved and speaking negatively to the judge about his own client! He was defending himself, meek, quiet, and unconcerned about the ended futures he played a role in - in my opinion. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING HIM IN THE STATE OF INDIANA. He might be compromised.
