Jared Michael Krukar

Jared is a Florida Bar Board Certified Appellate Lawyer and a Career Staff Attorney at the Florida Second District Court of Appeal.

Jared has an extensive history in both government and private practice, but has always focused on appellate work.  After obtaining his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration from Stetson Law, Jared began his legal career as a Central Staff Attorney and later as a Senior Staff Attorney to the Honorable Darryl C. Casanueva at the Second District Court of Appeal.  After nearly six years, Jared went into private practice.  During that time, he successfully represented businesses and individuals in cases in the Federal Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Florida, all five of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, and several Florida Circuit Courts’ appellate divisions.  Jared earned Board Certification in Appellate Practice for his expertise and professionalism in practice.

Jared returned to the Second District in 2021.  However, he maintains the extensive professional work he started while in private practice.  He is a former president and once more the president-elect of the North Tampa Bar Association, chair of the ad hoc Rules Subcommittee on The Florida Bar Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of The Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section.  He's also a prolific author and speaker on various topics of appellate practice.

Outside of practice, Jared has spent the last several years teaching various courses in the Law, Justice, and Advocacy Program at The University of Tampa.  He currently teaches Appellate Advocacy.
