I was filing a claim for my damaged roof with my insurer when the adjuster said some things that threw me off. David Murray was recommended to me as an expert in these matters and he quickly agreed to help. He sat in on a call with the adjuster and advised me. Then he spotted some language in the wor...k authorization agreement the insurer sent us that could have potentially left me liable for all repairs. He sent back changes that we felt were reasonable. The insurer didn’t respond to our concerns or proposed changes. Then they ended up denying my claim for reasons that were never made clear to us. David advised me throughout this stressful period and briefed me throughout the process. We had to go to mediation but David had already prepared a lawsuit. During mediation, David was far more prepared than the insurance company and thoroughly laid out our position. The insurer quickly capitulated and offered to settle. David consulted with me during the session and got the insurer to agree to a few more conditions. I never thought we could get the matter resolved so quickly and without sacrificing anything. The settlement allowed me to arrange to have my roof replaced with better materials and without having to rely on the insurer’s recommended contractors. My house will be safer for several hurricane seasons to come. I can’t imagine what could have happened if David hadn’t been there to advise me. Everything went wrong when I had a lawyer, so imagine how badly it could have gone if I didn’t have legal representation to back me up. My nightmare is that the insurer could have hired a contractor and, under the original agreement, potentially left me on the hook for tens of thousands in bills. David was knowledgeable, accessible and aggressive in representing me and the outcome is better than anything I could have hoped for. If you need to file a claim for your roof, ask David to represent you. Don’t trust the insurance company. I have never been happier to pay a legal bill. The peace of mind was worth it.
