I graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida in 1998. I attended Stetson University College of Law, where I was a member of the Stetson Law Review. While earning my Juris Doctor degree, I served as a Federal Judicial Intern for Chief Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich of the U.S. Middle District of Florida; as the President of the Student American Bar Association and was appointed as a teaching fellow.
I earned my Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2001. In my early career, I gained trial experience as a defense attorney, representing defendants and large insurance carriers. I began practicing family and marital law in 2006. I now dedicate the majority of my time to individuals and families going through divorce, litigating custody and financial matters or resolving conflict through mediation or uncontested divorce proceedings. I genuinely care about my clients and their families and I try to handle their personal matters and legal issues with compassion and discretion.
I work with my clients to understand and meet their needs and to navigating delicate family matters. I help my clients to evaluate alternatives to court hearings, such as mediation or negotiated settlement to resolve your family law issues quickly and in the least stressful manner possible. As a Certified Family Law Mediator, I help some parents negotiate settlements of their family law issues, either before or after they've filed for divorce or custody.
I also litigate family law cases where matters are brought to trial before the Court. In extreme situations, I take action to protect our clients or their children, asking the Court to suspend or supervise a parent’s visitation, award temporary alimony and/or child support, order a mental health/drug/alchohol screening or counseling for the other party and/or provide counseling for the children and/or client dealing with damaging and devastating issues. I understand that each family and their issues are unique, so I am able to tailor our firm's legal services to suit individual needs.

Hello! I've tried to reach out to you via text, email and phone to discuss this matter with you. I absolutely understand your frustration. While there are no excuses, I was out of the office in December and early January for an unexpected death in the family. My staff members would have been more than happy to take care of your needs in my absence, however they were not contacted by you while I was out of the office. Your family and issues are important to me and to my firm and I apologize for the delay and for your disappointment. I wish you and your family the very best.
"Lorie is always prepared to represent her clients. She guides her clients and gives them helpful and accurate feedback."
"An extremely talented and well respected attorney in the legal community, I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a lawyer who knows the law and truly cares about protecting the rights of her clients and getting them the most favorable result possible."
