I found Lorie after interviewing 3 attorneys for my dissolution of marriage. I am SO pleased that I chose her. Lorie is personable and genuine, easy to talk to. I felt she had a thorough understanding of all the details and nuances of my situation. My case was particularly complicated, with many chil...dren, many different accounts and assets to divide, and an uncommunicative, self-employed spouse with his own business. She was undaunted, and we had a really good outcome, because of her work. There are so many reasons to hire Lorie if your divorce is difficult...but perhaps the most compelling is this: She is PREPARED. When we walked into mediations (more than one!), she brought reams of files and papers. Crates full. When my ex claimed he didn't have a figure or know an answer, she found it! She is familiar with (and brought with her!) very up-to-date software to compute financial problems--child support,alimony, tax consequences, etc. It was obvious that she navigates this tool often, because we could deftly negotiate different scenarios. Despite her cheeful smile and easy manner, Lorie is a Powerhouse. Thank God I had her on my side! I would advise anyone going through a tough divorce to try to stay engaged and be proactive in your own case. Sometimes I had to email or call Lorie to see what was going on, because my case did drag on for a long time (not Lorie's fault). It's good that your attorney sees you as involved. I tried to be an enthusiastic participant, and Lorie responded in kind. Sometimes I was TOO excited, and wanted to do things my own way, and Lorie tempered my strong will with solid advice based on experience. At first I resisted, but she was right every time.
