Gerald Louis Hemness Jr.

For almost 20 years, Gerald has assisted clients with guardianship, probate and exploitation cases, whether uncontested or those cases which involve litigation.  Raised in the Midwest, he served as a deputy sheriff in Hamilton County, Ohio before moving to the Tampa Bay area to attend Stetson University College of Law.  Gerald graduated from law school Cum Laude in 1995 and then served five years in the courtroom as a prosecutor for the 13th Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Hillsborough County.  He has also served on the Board of several non-profits, including the Florida State Guardianship Association on both the state and local levels, Noah’s Ark of Central Florida and the Center For Guardian Advocacy.  Gerald became certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator in 2019, offering mediation services focused on guardianship and probate disputes.
