Caryn Alicia Stevens

Caryn Stevens was the saving grace for me, during one of the most difficult times of my life. After being married for almost two decades, I was completely unsure of where my life would end up upon the dissolution of my marriage. Caryn was there every step of the way to explain everything, help me to... understand my options, and make me feel comfortable with the whole process. I never doubted for a second that I was in the best hands possible, and that her advice was unquestionably in my best interest. She gave of her time, her patience, and her expertise in a manner that was so far above and beyond anything I have ever experienced from an attorney. It was obvious that she was looking at me as a whole person, not just a client. She put my best interest, and that of my children, above her personal commitments time and again during this process. I can see why she came so highly recommended, and I have since recommended her to multiple friends because I have learned, first hand, what a difference having someone like Caryn on your side could mean. Without her, I probably would not have my house, my boys would not have been able to stay in their school, and I can not even quantify the emotional turmoil that she has shielded me from. Caryn was a recommendation from a co-worker. We were skeptical due to attorneys we had used in the past. A year ago I was completely clueless on the divorce process but I knew that it was the absolute right decision (and a year later don't regret that decision one bit). My divorce was extremely difficult, complicated and the road was very treacherous between the financial aspects and timesharing concern...s I had. Caryn and her paralegal, Emily, treated me with the upmost care and concern the entire year it took me to finalize my divorce; while at the same time exhibiting professionalism, educating me the entire time, being very conscious of how costly a divorce can be, and also guiding me in making the best decisions for my family (even when I didn't want to hear the truth sometimes). My case (of almost a year) included a hearing in front of the Judge and two mediations. Caryn prepared me so well for all of these stressful situations and was able to get me back on track when things seemed beyond my control...she was the 'calm' in my storm each and every time. My divorce was recently finalized during our final mediation so that I didn't have to incur the cost and stress of going to final trial and was able to have more control over my future than if a Judge decided everything. I attribute this to Caryn, her team and the wonderful mediator that she chose to get the job done and enable everyone to move on and begin a new life that doesn't include continued litigation and all that comes along with it. I can't recommend Caryn and Emily enough, my gratitude can't even be put into words and I will forever keep in touch with them with hopes to convey wonderful news about how well my girls and I are doing as we move forward into the future!

First I want to say if I could give a 100 stars that it still wouldn't be enough for how amazing Caryn was and How much I would recommend her. The biggest thank you has to go to this amazing team of Lawyers from Ward & Damon. These amazing Women- Caryn and her super women amazing paralegal Emily wh...o without them I wouldn't be here today with my son. Caryn and team had never won a relocation with getting custody and decision making with a Father before. Being a Father in this system is very difficult and it's even more difficult trying to be awarded custody from the mother, let alone a relocation. That's nearly impossible to do ask anybody around. But when my wife and I walked in and met Caryn and her team for the first time, we felt a connection with them after meeting with different lawyers. They warned us of how difficult the road ahead was going to be and how low our odds were going to be. Elle and I knew our chances but we forged through the path ahead with Caryn, Gina, and Emily leading the way with the light. Through all the court dates, filings, temp orders and many nights communicating at all hours trying to work through things, they were always there for me. These amazing Women talked me off ledges when I wanted to give up because nothing was going right. They were always there for a shoulder to cry on and advice, all while telling me to trust the process and let them guide my wife and I through this storm. Their passion got even deeper when things would happen and they became even more involved, and made it a mission to win this case. Well it's now save to say that these women empowered me and helped get us to this verdict that I have today. I won the relocation for my son, majority time sharing, and ultimate decision making. Something I couldn't have down without this group of amazing lawyers. Words can't describe how amazing and knowledgeable of the law. I’ve been working with Caryn for eight months on a very complicated divorce case and she continues to go above and beyond.
