Robert W. Wilkins

Co-Chair of the Jones Foster Litigation Department, Rob Wilkins has a broad based complex commercial litigation practice with an emphasis on eDiscovery and Information Governance and the use of technology in the practice of law.  With over 30 years’ experience as a trial lawyer, Mr. Wilkins is one of only 88 attorneys board certified by The Florida Bar in both Business Litigation and Civil Trial.  He is admitted to practice in New York and Florida State Courts and the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

His areas of experience include business disputes, employment litigation and investigations, insurance litigation, non-compete and trade secrets, civil RICO, securities litigation, probate and estate litigation, commercial real estate litigation, landlord/tenant litigation, and shareholder and partnership disputes.

Mr. Wilkins is active in both The Florida Bar and Palm Beach County Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, The Federal Bar Association, and the New York State Trial Lawyers Section and Commercial and Federal Practice section.  Currently, he is a member of the ABA  Litigation Section’s  Email and Social Media and Privacy and Data Security Committees as well as the  Science and Technology Law Section’s Internet of Things (IoT) committee.  Mr. Wilkins currently serves as Chair of the Palm Beach County Bar's Technology Law committee, and has served on the Board of Legal Specialization and Education of The Florida Bar that oversees all 24 areas of certification (2008-2013). Prior to that, he served  for six years on The Florida Bar Business Litigation Certification Committee, including as Vice Chair and Chair (2003- 2008).  Mr. Wilkins is a member of The Sedona Conferece Working Group 1, Electronic Document Retention and Production and a Member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 11, Data Security and Privacy Liability.  He is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Corporate Counsel Super Lawyer,  and Florida Super Lawyer.

Mr. Wilkins attended Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in 1980.  He attended Albany Law School in Albany, New York where he received his Juris Doctorate degree magna cum laude in 1983. He was valedictorian of his graduating class and a member of the Albany Law Review.
