LOST TRIAL—-Went to prison

I hired Mr. Shafran for a case of mine and put all my trust into him to defend me. His words sounded wise and he made me feel like I was in good hands. I assisted him with the case as well as far as putting together documents and information to show more of the truth that I had to prove to the courts.... Mr. Shafran came at me many times asking for me to plea out, but I never did because I was truly innocent in this matter. So if I carry no sense of guilt why should I take any offer? I knew enough about the situation to believe that the truth would set me free. It was a cut and dry case. In the end we went to trial and at trial he forgot so many things to introduce to the court that would had helped in my favor. I’ll never forget that day the verdict came back. GUILTY I’m leaving this review for whomever is searching for attorney. So I’m sure just like with any attorney, they will say whatever you want to hear. Well this is one of those attorneys. After $15,000 spent and a cut and dry case that should had had me going home for dinner, I went to prison. So don’t think just because you drop a good chunk of money with someone you’ll get better results. I’m pretty sure a public defender would had done a better job than how this attorney represented me. Good luck to all that are in their search for representation and I wish the most favorable outcomes for your situations. But in my opinion, keep looking: this isn’t the one. Much love to all. Be safe out there.

I am sorry you feel this way. I believe this case is now at least three years old but all I ever did was fight for you and advocate on your behalf. We did exactly what you wanted and went to trial as opposed to you taking our advice. Regardless, we put forth a defense and unfortunately the jury did not agree. A jury trial is always a gamble and I sincerely am saddened it did not go your way. If you ever need anything, please feel free to reach out to me. I’m more than willing to talk and help in any way I can. I wish you the best moving forward and moving on from this point in your life.

Thank you.

I am so thankful I found amazing attorneys who treated me as a human being. Who, when when they were crazy busy, took time to listen (and understand) all the intricacies of my situation, even after my court hearing. A quick walk through of my experience. My life changed completely last year, and t...urned upside down when a DUI charge threatened my future. My career I had worked 8 years to build was in jeaporady and I had absolutely no direction. I had a quick phone interview at 6:30 in the morning after staying awake all night stressing, reading horror stories on the internet and psyching myself out. (Web Law is way worse than Web MD). The initial interview was brief and to the point and I made an appointment to come in person to discuss my case. Once we met in person, assurances were made that my case would be assessed and dealt with in the way they deemed best. Something I definitely liked about the process was paying one set price. Which may seem excessive to some, but I have a seperate lawyer for my license who bills me for every email, phone call, and month that goes by, so specified amount one time, definitely can save you in the end if you have a lot of communication in case some strange, extraordinary scenario arises. (Or if you’re like me and think of every worst case scenrio situation) The line of communication between my lawyers and I was open, and they were quick to respond. I’m an anxious person, even finding the court room caused me crazy anxiety, and Matt even helped me find that via text message (technology these days) I keep saying “they” because, M&B works as a team, everyone has always been precessional, courteous and prompt, working cohesively to bring the best service to their clients. Most recently (6 months after court proceedings) I had a professional hiccup that required immediate attention. I reached out to Matt, and explained the urgency of the situation and I am so thankful, because what was “just a letter and a phone call” took time from his busy day to make it possible for me to get back into working in my profession. I know I’ll never need you guys again, but if someone else needs someone to listen, understand, and guide them through their legal nightmare, I 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Excellent service!

My husband was wrongfully accused of battery. Matt made the whole experience so much easier on us. Matt did a great job with my husband’s case. He was very profesional. He was able to succesfully wrap up the case in a short period of time. From the very beginning he was honest and knowledgeable. One ...of the things that I like about working with Matt is that he was very easy to get in contact with, which is very important in this type of cases. He was a little pricey for us, but he tried to accommodate us. At the end of the day, it was worth it. I would definitely use him again if the need arises. I HIGHLY recommend him!

Excellent

Matt S. from Meltzer & Bell represented my husband and I in a domestic violence case recently, which we were disbuting. He was outstanding! Whenever I needed to contact him he was available and answered every question I had and the best part was my husband did not have to go to jail and the case wa...s dismissed (within 3 weeks of his hiring). He is affordable and I would highly recommend him.
