I will try to keep this simple although I have a lot to say about this. About a year ago, this gentleman and a partner reached out for help in forming a legal entity and then seeking non-profit status. I explained multiple times that the costs for setting up the entity would be a flat 500 fee which includes state fees. I was also clear that establishing the tax exemption would be time consuming and that with my hourly rate, it could cost thousands of additional dollars. I performed what I was paid to do. The entity was established and continues to this day. In fact, what prompted this reviewer to post was that I reached out to him to let him know that he needed to file an annual report if he wanted to maintain the very entity that the review seems to imply was not done! In any event, when I started the process of detailing the information I would need from them in order to tackle the IRS non profit issues, they stopped communicating with me and obviously, did not pay the additional funds that would have been required to perform those tasks. In sum, I did all and more that I was actually paid to do and I was perfectly willing to do the second part of this task had the client paid for it and provided the requested information to so perform. I have been practicing for 35 years and I am quite proud of my unblemished record. I earned that with honesty and integrity.
