TS

I retained Tasha Simmonds on short notice which was very helpful. She was able to assist me with filling out and filing the appropriate documents, as well as explain them to me and guide me through the court proceedings. She also communicated with me via text and email, as well as phone, which was v...ery beneficial to me throughout certain parts of the day. With that, I also found that there was a breakdown in communication at some times. For instance, I had scheduled a meeting with her to sign some documents, and she was 1 hour late. I did not receive any communication from her saying that she would be. Another issue I had was that prior to my first court hearing, I mentioned to her my concern of who would be allowed in the courtroom during the hearing, as I did not want any unnecessary observers to be there since this was a very private and personal matter. During my second hearing, I noticed that there were observers in the courtroom, some who were known to her. I think that she should have asked the judge to have them removed from the courtroom during my proceedings, having known how I felt about it, or at least cleared it with me first.

Dear anonymous: Thank you for the overall rating of "I recommend Tasha Simmonds". However, we are surprised at your presentation of your experience with Simmonds Legal. First of all, your description of our services seem to indicate a document preparation/assistance engagement, when you were, in fact, represented by an attorney who prepared for and went to trial for you. The end result was that you received more than what you initially asked of the Court. While we apologize for the delay in your meeting, please remember that meeting was scheduled by e-mail very late the night before and Attorney Simmonds' assistant did, in fact, reach out to you to ensure you knew that she was en route. Finally, it was explained to you earlier on that your type of proceeding did not fall under the "confidential" classification that other types of hearings do. Attorney Simmonds attends court often and often sees familiar faces. We understand no one wants their private matters surveyed by the public, but Florida law gives members of the public the right to do so. You were forewarned that Attorney Simmonds had no control over this. So we are sad to see that you indicted her on this point, anyway. You made an assumption, and your assumption is incorrect. Please know, however, that had Attorney Simmonds wanted to go against your wishes and invite observers to the hearing, she definitely would have attempted to clear it with you first. While we thank you for taking the time out for leaving an honest review, we really wish that you would have brought these concerns to us beforehand. But, thank you for being a great client! Respectfully, Management

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
