I had a very frustrating experience dealing with OBeidy & Associates, P.A. They initially contacted me asking what dates would work for a hearing. I responded in good faith and explained that one of the dates they later proposed happened to be my father’s birthday. I attempted to coordinate and sugg...ested working toward a mutually agreeable date — which is, as I understand it, the entire purpose of conferring. Instead of engaging in professional scheduling coordination, I was met with disbelief and a condescending tone. I was essentially told that this “wasn’t gamesmanship” and that I needed to choose a date that worked for them. Respectfully, scheduling is supposed to involve both sides. It cannot be a one-way demand process where only their availability matters. The dismissive language and insinuation that I was “playing games” was unnecessary and unprofessional. As a pro se litigant, I do not have an attorney buffer — they communicate directly with me. Given that dynamic, I expect a baseline level of professionalism and courtesy. Unfortunately, the tone and verbiage used felt belittling and, at times, bordering on mental pressure tactics. Professional disagreement is one thing. Condescension is another. I hope they reconsider how they communicate with self-represented parties in the future.

After an unfortunate dispute with an employer, I was in a very difficult place and not sure what to do. Thankfully, I was referred to Andrew. My dispute is now resolved and I can not even begin to explain my gratitude to Obeidy & Associates. They clearly have a passion for helping me. Three years ago I came to Mr OBeidy in desperation. I had just been forced to resign from Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) and had no idea what to do. I contacted him over the phone, and within 5 minutes of our conversation he wanted to meet with me in person. The next day I had the pleasure of meet...ing him along with his aide, Lexi Kirby. They immediately demonstrated their professionalism as well as capability in taking on my case. Mr OBeidy knew right away how he was going to win my lawsuit against BSO, and offered me sound advice going forward. Though humble, I will admit that I am a HIGHLY DECORATED combat veteran. My immediate supervisor at BSO was jealous of that, and ultimately discriminated against me because of my service. I made a complaint, BSO chose to side with that individual, and I was retaliated against by BSO by being terminated for that complaint. Over a 3 year period, Mr OBeidy, Lexi, and myself have experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. BSO has a reputation of “playing dirty,” and they most certainly earned that reputation while in litigation with my team. Ultimately, I wanted JUSTICE for what had happened to me. I WAS NOT GOING TO SETTLE. BSO would not be able to pay me to “shut up” about what had transpired while I was employed there and the kind of repugnant behavior that they had condoned. I wanted to go to federal court. Mr OBeidy, though diligently explaining the potential risks involved, was willing to proceed. Poetically, the trial was scheduled on the week that would mark the 3 year anniversary of my unjust termination with BSO. Andrew and his small team, in the form of david, was going against the G O L I A T H that BSO is. As anticipated, BSO continued to play dirty throughout the entire trial, as they continued to mock and belittle my military service. Mr OBeidy and his team comprised of both Lexi and David Coll were ultimately VICTORIOUS over BSO. The jury rendered a verdict declaring that BSO had in fact both discriminated against me for my military service and retaliated against me by terminating me based on the complaint that I had made about discrimination. MR OBEIDY AND HIS TEAM HAD WON A CASE IN FEDERAL COURT AGAINST THE LARGEST GOVERNMENT ENTITY IN BROWARD COUNTY AS WELL AS THE SECOND LARGEST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This case will certainly set precedence in the court system for eternity. Mr OBeidy and his team were willing to go to war with me. I had no idea what his closing statement would be during the trial, and I am man enough to admit that I teared up when he stated that he would be willing to take on my trial again. And again. And again, despite at that time not knowing what the outcome would be. Mr OBeidy, as well as Lexi Kirby, have both earned my lifelong respect. I WILL “go to war” with them. Any time either of these two upstanding individuals go to trial, I will ensure to the best of my abilities that I will be present in the courtroom for both support and as a reminder of the VICTORY that they worked so to achieve in my trail.
