Vivian Fazio is a native Floridian. She was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale and attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Ms. Fazio received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She returned to Fort Lauderdale and served as District Representative to former Congressman E. Clay Shaw, Jr. (deceased) before enrolling in law school at Nova Southeastern University College of Law. While at NSU, Ms. Fazio was honored to be selected for the Moot Court Society and to compete against other Florida law schools in oral advocacy at the Florida Bar Convention in Orlando as part of NSU's Moot Court Team.
Ms. Fazio is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She has more than 20 years experience representing individuals, hospitals, medical and dental professionals, large corporations, small businesses and governmental entities before state and federal courts throughout Florida.
Ms. Fazio is an AV-rated litigator, and has been recognized by Florida Trend as a Legal Elite. In 2016, Ms. Fazio was appointed by the incoming President of the Florida Bar to serve on the prestigious Civil Procedure Rules Committee. The Florida Rules of Civil Procedure govern the practice of civil law, and must be followed by anyone who brings or defends a civil lawsuit.
In 2018, Ms. Fazio was appointed by the Governor to serve on the 17th Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission, which vets, interviews and recommends applicants to the Governor when judicial vacancies occur.
Ms. Fazio is an active member of the Broward County Bar Association, where she serves on the Professionalism and Emerging Legal Issues committees, and the Broward County Women Lawyers' Association, where she serves on the Board of Directors. Ms. Fazio also mentors second and third year law students at Nova Southeastern University College of Law, and middle and high school girls at PACE Center for Girls. Ms. Fazio is on the Board of the St. Gregory the Great Women's Guild and seeks to better her community through all of her endeavors.
