I am a former assistant state attorney and a former magistrate who has been practicing family law in Florida for over 18 years. I handle uncontested paternity/child support cases and uncontested divorce cases (also known as simple or friendly divorce cases) as well more complex contested divorce and family law cases.

Immigration 25%

My immigration practice focuses on the problems that immigrants and visa holders can encounter as a result of changes in their family circumstances, both here in the United States and in other nations. I also help immigrants understand how the decision to file for divorce might affect their green card or residence status, or how under certain circumstances their status might even be improved.

Personal Injury 10%

To prove negligence, our law firm would immediately gather evidence such as photographs and/or video recordings of your injury, obtain your medical records, obtain your accident report and interview witnesses about the incident. It is important to contact an attorney soon after a personal injury because time is of the essence.

Peggy Cruz-Townsend is an outstanding lawyer, very detailed oriented & fast results, she was always accessible, which is outstanding in itself. I have used her on more than one occasion already (Prenup & Divorce) & I feel comfort knowing I have reliable legal representation for most future legalities... that I may need in the future.

Very professional and helpful law team

I am very satisfied with the result of my case. Attorney Cruz and her team was really professional since they took my case. In just a few hours, after my first court date, I was able to see my daughter again after 12 years of parental alienation from my ex-wife. Attorney Cruz showed empathy and compa...ssion for my case. I will always be thankful for that. Attorney Cruz has an extensive background in family law and she is a parent as well. Attorney Cruz used all the available resources to find justice and satisfy my requests. I work in law enforcement and live out of State. Attorney Cruz and her team was always honest in everything they recommended to me toward my case. I recommend Attorney Cruz and her team for any family law case.

Defended Over and Beyond!!!

What can you tell a mother lost in translation following a separation of 15 years of marriage? Though I had worked in the legal field for many years, I was not of sound mind to manage my own marital issues. I had received a Complaint for Divorce from my estranged husband some 5 months after our sep...aration. Upon receipt of the complaint, I was no longer residing in the State of Florida but the State of Ohio. Not having knowledge of the marital laws in the State of Florida, I had to resort to a licensed attorney. Having but just 20 days to answer said Complaint for Divorce, I had to find an attorney immediately. Keeping in mind that I needed an attorney that would passionately defend in this matter, I knew that I needed a female and Hispanic at that as I too am a female and Hispanic. Sorting through a number of possible attorneys, I couldn't help but to notice that Ms. Cruz-Townsend. She not only was a female Hispanic attorney but, she was licensed to practice in the area of divorce. I then called her offices and left a message with her secretary. I received a call back from Ms. Cruz-Townsend immediately that very same day. As we spoke, I emotionally gave her insight on what my problem was and why I needed her legal expertise. She gladly took me under her wing informed me of what I needed to do to retain her services and immediately started the process in my representation. Following several filings, the hearing date finally came. Ms. Cruz-Townsend was able to have me attend the hearing via telephone so that I wouldn't have to incur unnecessary travel expenses. During the hearing, she spoke on my behalf and represented me in the most jealous and zealous way possible. Not only did she manage to get me justice but, she also managed to get the court to dismiss the case as the State of Florida had no jurisdiction upon my case as I had only been a resident of the Sate of Florida for a year and that of the State of Ohio for 16 years. Thank you Ms. Cruz-Townsend for a job well done.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Peggy as a fellow attorney for approximately 16 years. Over the years I have been a mediator on cases she's handled and I have found Peggy to be professional, knowledgeable and very confident in her abilities. I have been so impressed with Peggy's abilities that I have confidently referred many cases to her that are outside the scope of cases my firm handles."
