Michael Lewenz

Michael T. Lewenz, Esq. is a partner at Zebersky Payne Shaw Lewenz, LLP, and Chair of the firm’s Personal Injury and PIP Practice Group. He represents individuals who suffer injuries in car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and falls, and boating accidents. Mr. Lewenz also represents the families and loved ones of individuals who suffered a wrongful death. In addition, Mr. Lewenz also represents medical professionals in disputes with auto-insurance companies over personal injury protection (PIP) as well as individuals, businesses, homeowners and condo associations in insurance disputes involving catastrophic property damage. Since 2014, Mr. Lewenz has recovered over five million dollars for injured clients.

Licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Florida, Michael Lewenz is one of a select group of personal injury lawyers to complete a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, in front of Chief District Court Judge, K. Michael Moore.

Prior to joining Zebersky Payne Shaw Lewenz, LLP, Michael Lewenz, Esq. was the co-founder of the South Florida business and trial firm, Shaw Lewenz, LLC, where he again focused on personal injury and personal injury protection (PIP) litigation.

After finishing his first year of law school ranked number-one in his class at Nova Southeastern University Law, Michael transferred to the University of Miami School of law where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. While at the University of Miami, Mr. Lewenz was a member of the University of Miami Law Review and completed in depth constitutional research with Professor Donald M. Jones, and wrote substantial articles on Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 36(b), and personal injury protection (PIP).

Having worked in Florida’s 17th Judicial Circuit under The Honorable Lisa Porter, Mr. Lewenz has a comprehensive knowledge of not only civil procedure, but also Florida Rules of Evidence, and criminal procedure. Before attending law school Mr. Lewenz attended Loyola University Chicago where he received dual degrees in Marketing and Sport Management, and worked for the NFL Chicago Bears organization in their Advertisement and Events Department. In his four years in Chicago Mr. Lewenz was also involved in a variety of community and charity organizations such as Inspired Youth Chicago, and the “Vietnamese Association of Illinois.”
