At the end of a very long battle with infertility, my wife and I entered the legal phase of our gestational surrogacy arrangement with the same concerns as we had every step of the process to that point. We didn't know what to expect, what we should be concerned about, or how to make sure that we we...re protected. As an attorney myself, I wanted to make sure that when our child was born, we could concentrate on our family without the fear of legal concerns. Marla exceeded all of our expectations. She was knowledgable. She was compassionate. She was thorough. She was professional. And she was kind. Looking back, we were vulnerable and afraid before we met Marla. We lived in Chicago. Our gestational carrier lived in Florida. It sounds like hyperbole, but the distance didn't concern us...because we had Marla. My wife and I will be forever grateful for the work of the medical professionals, surrogacy agency, and our selfless gestational carrier.
