Jonathon S. Miller joined Wicker Smith in 2008 and is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office. Mr. Miller earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University in 2003, graduating with honors. He is an "AV" Preeminent® rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded by that organization.

Upon graduating law school, Mr. Miller was privileged to complete a two-year appellate clerkship at the Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach for the Honorable Mark E. Polen, who was Chief Judge at the time. There, he honed his finely polished legal research, writing and analytic skills and gained an inside view of the appellate process. Mr. Miller worked on over 100 appeals involving civil, criminal, probate and administrative matters.

Upon joining Wicker Smith, Mr. Miller has gained significant litigation and appellate experience. He practices in both the state and federal courts, focusing on premises and security liability, construction defects and liens laws, pharmacy negligence, discrimination claims, landlord-tenant law, condominium disputes and catastrophic personal injury lawsuits. Additionally, Mr. Miller has a thriving portion of his practice devoted to commercial and real estate litigation on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, national real estate developers and closely-held REITs. Most recently, he has also started representing fixed-base operators in general aviation matters, commercial transactions and aircraft liens and has also handled appeals in the First, Second, Third and Fourth Districts. Mr. Miller is adept at handling the gamut of discovery issues, and has taken hundreds of depositions and routinely drafts complex legal pleadings and memorandum of law. Additionally, he has also successfully argued countless dispositive and substantive legal issues at all stages of litigation.

Prior to joining Wicker Smith, Mr. Miller represented over 600 different condominium (residential, commercial and mixed-use), homeowners and cooperative associations throughout the State of Florida. He has extensive experience in all aspects of condominium operation and governance, including drafting governing documents, covenant enforcement, commercial transactions, developer-turnover, fair-housing issues, liens and foreclosures, elections, recalls, and dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation. Mr. Miller has even testified as an expert witness in this arena.

Mr. Miller is a member of the Broward and Palm Beach County Bar Associations.

Excellent Trial Attorney

Mr. Miller defended me in negligence lawsuit and achieved a result which was better that I thoughtwas possible at the commencement of the lawsuit. The facts were stacked against my case, but Mr. Miller maneuvered and focused the defense on the facts which were strongest while drawing focus away from those which were my weakest. Definitely someone that you MUST consider for any legal matters. Handled an civil lawsuit involving alleged breach of contract and tortious interference for me. Was able to resolve it in a matter I saw impossible at the time. Knowledge, integrity and results. He was professional and always kept me informed of the status and progress! GREAT OUTCOME! Super Lawyer

Jonathon Miller represented my company and myself personally with a lawsuit arising from a failed business transaction. He was very informed on the matter that we were dealing with and was constantly in communication with all parties involved, making suggestions on course of action with the expected outcome of each (and accurate prediction for the courses of action we ultimately pursued). He worked very diligently with opposing counsel for a fair and equitable compromise yet was aggressive and strategic, all of which resulted in a positive outcome for us. Jonathon was also very accessible and responsive. If he was not available at any given moment, there was always communication coming from his firm and an extremely short turn around making us feel as if he was available 24/7 to address any questions or needs. If there comes another opportunity to use his services we certainly will engage him.

Great lawyer

Mr. Miller achieved a great result in my case, out-smarting the opposing attorney at virtually every step of the way. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an aggressive and sharp but honest attorney. I will return to Mr. Miller for all of my future legal needs.

Highly recommended!

Fabulous attorney who received a fantastic result on my behalf. I breached my commercial lease because of market conditions and Mr. Miller successfully defended my company and myself as the personal guarantor based on creative defenses which forced my landlord into an extremely favorable settlement. Would certainly recommend without reservation. Hourly rate was fair and no excessive charges or unnecessary tasks.
