Carla Patricia Lowry

Carla P. Lowry earned her J.D. in 2000 from the Stetson University College of Law, and is admitted to the State bar of Florida, and U.S. District Courts of Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Ms. Lowry has previously served as a panelist and mentor for several organizations, and as a leader to the Hispanic community, Women Lawyers, and High School students throughout the State of Florida.

Ms. Lowry started her career as a Public Defender and Assistant State Attorney in Pinellas County and Hillsborough County, Florida. Ms. Lowry is the founder of Lowry at Law, P.A., in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she specializes in criminal, family, dependency, and appellate law. She has worked extensively in matters involving criminal appeals and post-conviction relief. She is also responsible for defending all citations issued to Uber Partner drivers in the South Florida area. During her time in the State Attorney’s Office and the Public Defender’s Office, Ms. Lowry tried hundreds of jury trials, including but not limited to, sex crimes, homicides, racketeering (organized crime), and drug offenses.
Estimates suggest that about 50,000 people are trafficked into the United States each year and a large number of child sex trafficking survivors in the United States were at one time in the foster care system. Due to the alarming statistics and her involvement with dependency and criminal court, Ms. Lowry has been involved with helping sex trafficking survivors by consulting, teaching and mentoring attorneys and survivors to understand and apply the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act and other support in their community.

Ms. Lowry is also a member of the Broward Hispanic Bar Association, Family Law Section of the Broward County Bar Association, and a Board Member of the Broward County Hispanic Vote.
