As a previous client of Mr. Mermell, I must say that the previous review posted was very far from the experience I had...Having been a former client of Mr. Mermell, I must say that he is a top notch Attorney with a vast wealth of knowledge..His office staff is also very professional & made me feel at... ease during times of uncertainty....Not only was the outcome of my case a positive one, I must state that I was also kept well informed during the process of my case...It is a rare thing nowadays to find an Attorney such as Mr. Mermell.... I know that every individual case is unique...However, my case was taken care of above & beyond my expectations... From beginning to end, I felt that I had proper representation...Thank you...

From day one it was an uphill battle just to see a doctor. Unless you're in Florida this firm cannot obtain a doctor for a dba claim. Calls are never answered or returned. A snotty phone person refuses to connect to you to an attorney unless you have an appointment. Terrible service and no confidence... in these individuals.

I was fortunate and got rid of this attorney before he could do too much damage to my disability claim. I was well versed on my entitlements by the Dept of Labor and the insurer prior to engaging Mr Mermell. My injuries were serious and I needed representation because I am not a US citizen and do not... live in America. Because I am alien to the US my future wages were going to be commuted. This was explained by the insurer as was the value of my commutation. I told Mr Mermell from the very beginging I would not except a voluntary settlement. Despite my instructions I received documents sent by the Dept. of labour that had been lodged, included was a letter from the insurer's attorney to Mr Mermell. It stated that he understood his client (me) was interested in a settlement and looked forward to discussing this. I emailed my attorney and asked relevant questions about my commutation. Mr Mermell's reply was full of incorrect information to manipulate my claim to a voluntary settlement. He protested a little too much which made me think it was beneficial for him to voluntary settlle my claim instead of commutation that was in my best interest. I found the information on how the attorney gets paid regarding commutation v voluntary settlement. The attorney's fees are taken from your settlement and they do not have to disclose the amount paid by the insurer. If you commute the attorney has to submit his fees on an hourly rate and are paid by the DOL Although this is a legal practice I do not believe telling a client untruthful information for your own gain is. I have been kind about the contents of Mr Mermell's legal advice in his letters. I would have given Mr Mermell a lower score if it were possible. I know of people that have terrible injuries that deserve their entitlements. It's shameful.
