Buyer beware

Lisa and her staff start out seemingly sympathetic and helpful, but in the end, all that matters to her is getting money from you. She did almost nothing on my case and let my ex-husband repeatedly violate our court orders, failed to file orders for sanctions against my ex that the judge ordered her ...to file, and withdrew from the case as soon as she had taken all the money I had while saying it would cost significantly more to continue at all. The majority of the things on my invoices were actions she took without ever speaking to me about them. She neglected to file anything I asked her to do something about. In the end I spent over $30,000 on her representation and received nothing from it. All I got was done on my own. Go anywhere else if you need help with your divorce.

In only SEVEN months’ time we vigorously defended this client’s rights in SIX court hearings and one all-day mediation that resulted in this client being able to relocate with her children and receive alimony, child support, and an advance distribution of assets. After these victories, she sent us the following unsolicited email: "Apparently today is love your lawyer day, so I thought I should let you know that words can’t express how appreciative I am of all you’ve done. You’ve fought for me when you couldn’t be sure you’d be paid, and it means the world to me and my children." We withdrew from the client’s representation, having obtained these fantastic results, because she had unrealistic expectations regarding third-party defendants that she could not afford to pursue. One month later, she begged us for assistance on an emergency basis and promised to pay for our services afterwards. We resumed her representation on faith that she would adhere to her promise, winning yet another victory in court on her behalf. She then refused to honor her promise to pay unless we would also handle an entire trial on her behalf against the two other defendants in addition to her husband, also on a promise-to-pay basis after trial was concluded. When we declined this offer and withdrew from representation a second time, the client settled the case without going to trial by dropping the defendants and accepting the same deal that we had obtained at mediation, plus a contribution to her attorney’s fees and an extension of her alimony. It is simply the request for her promised payment, and not any failings or dereliction on our part, that has resulted in this inaccurate review. Notwithstanding this new perspective on all we have done for this client, we wish her and her children much happiness in their new environment and invite the client to contact us directly to discuss a reasonable payment schedule of her outstanding balance.

Professional and Highly Effective!

Lisa Baird represented me in a very difficult two year custody battle involving two children and a very complicated case that started out in two states. Opposing party and the initial hearing judge wanted the case moved out of FL, contrary to the law. Lisa was able to stick to her guns and forced the... court to uphold the law and keep the case in FL, saving me considerable expenses not having to hire two teams of attorneys in two states. She then systematically picked apart the opposing party’s case line by line, proving their case was nothing but complete falsehoods. She’s very aggressive and an excellent strategist. When she learned all about my case, she devised a specific path for us to pursue and remained focused on it. I couldn’t be more grateful to her and her team for the professionalism and knowledge of family case law they displayed, and in the end we were able to not only win the case, but we got just about everything we initially set out to obtain and she was able to prevent the case from becoming what would have surely been an expensive and lengthy trial. That being said, even the best attorneys do not know your individual case as well as you do without you providing as much detailed information as possible. Even items I thought were irrelevant she was able to show were actually very important for my case. I’ve tried to talk her into branching out into other areas of the law, but she prefers to remain focused as an expert in family case law. I would highly recommend Lisa and her team in a heartbeat.

Poor Representation

I hired Lisa, gave her the $10,000 NON refundable retainer. She was supposed to represent me at my support hearing. My husband's attorney had a lot to say, Lisa said nothing !!! She had all my husbands financials , I ended up with a minimal amount of support, in a rental in a high crime area.....all ...suggestions of my husband and his attorney told the Judge. Even though my husband makes a good living , and I owned 2 homes with him . To think that Lisa had nothing to re buttle with on my behalf, I was in shock . Helen Keller would have been a better choice for an attorney. Stay away ,she acts nice, dresses well, but stinks at defending you. She and her assistant were even were cursing at me in the end she withdrew, before the $10,000 was spent. UGG I had to hire another attorney, one that was not an emotional wreck..BEWARE

Downright the best attorney you could ever ask for!!

Lisa is by far the best and most hardworking attorney I know. I have a unique perspective on her as an attorney, for not only do I have the honor of being her paralegal, she is also my attorney in my highly litigated post judgment child custody case. I know for a fact the level of tenuousness, ag...gressiveness, and integrity Lisa brings to all her cases, spending late nights preparing for hearings, working with clients to ensure not one detail is missed or one leaf unturned, all the while being conscious of the fact that litigation is expensive and doing her best to maximize the client’s fees to achieve the best result possible for them. I have seen the in and outs of her work ethics, both in the office and in the courtroom. Speaking of the Lisa in a courtroom… now, that is a pleasure to see when she defends her client’s position and fights for their objectives as though she were fighting for her own goals. She is fearless! I would recommend Lisa as an attorney to anyone involved in a family law matter.

A Lawyers' Lawyer

Lisa Baird brought a level of experience and expertise to my very complex MSA renegotiation that other attorneys specializing in Family Law were unable to provide. Her advice was always objective and realistic. I needed her to repair a prior MSA from some 10 years earlier! I followed her advice and t...he outcome was outstanding. Her fee schedule was less than that of other attorneys I had interviewed and she was always considerate of the costs being incurred. Her paralegal staff is excellent and all communication is timely. I am grateful that one of the attorneys I had consulted referred me to Lisa . I recommend her without reservation.
