Practice areas
  1. Mediation
    25%
The mediation process can help you resolve disputes without going to court. In a mediation proceeding, a neutral third party (a mediation lawyer or mediator) meets with you and the person you disagree with to help you reach a resolution.

  2. Trusts
    25%
A trust is an arrangement whereby someone owns and manages money or property for another person's benefit. A trustee has decision-making authority over the trust property, but no court is involved in the trustee's action.

  3. Uncontested divorce
    25%
A Collaborative Law Attorney helps you if you no longer want to be married. The Collaborative team will assist you to arrange financial and family matters, typically in a negotiation with your spouse's Collaborative Law Attorney.

  4. Wills and living wills
    20%
A written will lets you decide what happens to your money and property after you die, while a living will lets you decide whether or not you wish to be placed on a medical life support system if you become disabled or incapacitated.

  5. Elder law
    5%
Elder law attorneys deal with issues related to elderly and disabled people. They write wills, answer tax questions, and plan strategies for obtaining disability, Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare payments.

I am a Collaborative Divorce and Estate Planning Attorney, a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator since 2010, a Certified County Court Mediator, Parenting Coordinator, Founder of Vazquez Law, PLLC and Mediate4Peace, LLC. My office is located in Doral, Florida.

After obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University and a Master in Business Administration from Barry University, I went on to law school and obtained my Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, with a Certificate in Elder Law.

My practice is limited to non-adversarial and solution based methods, such as pro-se, pre-suit mediation, private family mediation, court-ordered family mediation and the collaborative process, which includes estate planning during and after divorce.

I truly understand that family litigation can be difficult and a costly event to families because I personally endured a highly conflictive, expensive, litigious 7-year divorce. As a collaborative attorney, I work closely with a team of collaboratively trained professionals to minimize conflict, resolve family issues amicably, and protect the children from emotional harm. Generally, I put estate planning protections in place, such as an Advance Health Care Directive, during the divorce. This is the legal document that provides you with the opportunity to name a trusted person to make health care decisions for you in case you can’t. After the divorce process is completed, I then educate families on different planning options so that they can make the best, informed decisions in designing a thorough and comprehensive estate plan that will work for them and their loved ones.

I am living proof that there is light at the end of the tunnel after divorce. I am determined to make the process for families far easier than what it was for me. One of the ways I accomplish this is by applying my P.E.A.C.E. resolution approach, which clients really do appreciate.

P for Peaceful.

E for Empower.

A for Amicable.

C for Cost-Effective.

E for Everything Else.

On a personal level, I am a native Floridian of Cuban descent, and a dedicated mother to my beautiful children.

I am fluent in Spanish.

Outstanding Attorney
Ms. Vazquez is truly an excellent attorney and kind professional. Her knowledge and expertise was evident throughout the process of creating our estate and legacy plan. She is very thorough and strives to provide that "little more" that is the mark of a true professional. We highly recommend her.

Five Stars!
I highly recommend Betsy as an efficient estate planning attorney. She was very helpful in guiding me through the process of creating a trust as per my personal needs. She also helped me set up my Advance Health Care Directive during these crucial times of COVID-19 pandemic. Betsy is a dedicated professional and took her time to thoroughly answer all my questions with great detail.
