I am a native Floridian, whose family has been in the Miami/Coral Gables area since it's early years in the 1920's. I graduated from Christopher Columbus High School, where I was Vice President of the Student Activities Commitee (Student Government) and then I went to Florida State University where I became Vice President of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, studied Business Administration minoring in Finance and majoring in Marketing and through Florida State's Foreign Student Program, I lived and studied in Florence, Italy from which I travelled all over Europe. After college I went to Law School at the University of Miami where i was Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International and upon graduation I moved to Bogota, Colombia to pursue a career in International Banking through the Banso De Bogota, which was considering opening a Bank in Miami, but the mal effects of the drug trade on Colombian banks essentially closed that door and so, I returned home, took the Bar Exam and began practicing law with several small law firms in Coral Gables handling typical legal matters, such as name changes, real estate closings, divorce, etc., but shortly thereafter, my Father, who had practiced Workers' Compensation Law in South Florida for decades, asked me to come work with him to assist with handling the cases of his longtime associate, who had died. Consequently, I quickly learned Workers' Compensation Law under the tutelege of my very experienced Father, with whom I worked for 16 years. When my Father retired in 1999, I opened my own law firm and established a state-wide practice across Florida from offices in Miami and Longwood (near Orlando). Resultantly, I have handled all aspects of Workers' Compensation cases from meeting with clients, analyzing their legal issues, litigating their cases before the Judges of Compensation Claims, argiung post-trial Motions and, when necessary filing their Appeals and argiung their cases before the First District Court of Appeal in Tallahasse. I have handled cases in virtually every jurisdiction in the state of Florida and have represented virtually every type of entity involved in litigation of Workers' Compensation cases, including, but not limited to Claimants (injured Employees), Dependents of deceased Claimants, Employer/Carriers, Self-Insured Employers, Uninsured Employers, Third party Administrators, Servicing Agents, Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), General Contractors, Subcontractors, etc. I am a member of the Workers' Compensation section of The Florida Bar Association, as well as a member of the Workers' Compensation section of the Miami-Dade County Bar Association.
I am "AV Preeminent" rated by Martindale Hubbell as having the "Highest Possible Rating in Both Legal Ability & Ethical Standards Reflecting the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and Judiciary". I am listed in The Legal Network as a "Top Lawyer In Florida" with the "Highest In Ethical And Professional Excellence". I have been declared as one of "America's Most Honored Professionals", which is "awarded for continuous professional recognition and accomplishment by the top 1% of American professionals ...". I am a graduate of "Leadership Miami" and I am listed in "Who's Who of Emerging Leaders In America". I have been admitted to the Research Board Of Advisors of the American Biographical Institute. I have been honored as a Leader by "Personalities Of America" for "Contributions To Society And My Fellow Man" and I have received Certificates Of Appreciation from Miami-Dade College and from the Disabled American Veterans, as well as for charity work with Easter Seals and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami.
