Abbie Barbara Cuellar

Abbie Cuellar is a partner at Amador & Cuellar, PL. She is an experienced litigator and trial attorney focusing her practice in consumer law, debt defense, and leads the firm’s criminal defense practice.

Ms. Cuellar began her legal career as a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office. She handled complex criminal litigation cases including violent crimes, armed home invasions, sexual battery, assaults, and attempted murder. Ms. Cuellar successfully prosecuted multiple cases through jury trial and conviction. After her time as a prosecutor, Ms. Cuellar joined the Miami Regional Counsel’s Office as a criminal defense attorney and served as a Guardian ad Litem attorney. As a former state prosecutor, Ms. Cuellar offers a unique perspective from both sides of the law, allowing her to compassionately and effectively tackle cases as a criminal defense attorney.

Prior to opening the firm, Ms. Cuellar practiced civil litigation with one of the largest foreclosure firms in Florida, handling complex residential foreclosure actions. She also successfully ran her own practice, Abbie Cuellar, P.A, handling cases in the area of criminal defense, foreclosure defense, and bankruptcy law.

Ms. Cuellar is Cuban-American and a native New Yorker. She attended NYU Stern Business School, one of the Nation’s leading educational institutions prior to earning her Law Degree from Rutgers School of Law. She has a long standing commitment to public service and a passion for giving a voice to those that do not have one. She was awarded, by the City of Miami, the Women of the Year award in 2011 for her public service and dedication to the community. She is currently the chair of the Miami-Dade Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board and continues serving her community.
