I would not do justice if I simple clicked on the rating stars, without a true and humble thank you for attorney Kevin Schaefer. And by all definition is true as expressed by Mahatma Gandhi, that "In a gentle way, you can shake the world." Kevin was my appointed attorney, but also showed me a side ...of law that over shadowed any preconceived notions that aggressiveness showing as loud, overconfident and hard lined approaches indicated that the "shark" labeled legal representatives of today win the cases. There was nothing weak or with lack of confidence, in Kevin Schaefer. Just that I found a young man who had a side of humanity that was not willing to give up, even if I told him to. He saw the weight of the case wearing on me and my desire to release the pressure brought me to wanting to pull away and he just took over by letting me know that all I had to worry about was myself and my well being. Being disabled after a life long career is terrifying. Losing your well deserved benefits is even more. The only thing that would top that would be an attorney that you are intimidated by. From the onset, he was kind and gentle. Just what is needed to deal with clients who are disabled for health reasons and the last thing needed is to have additional stress. I found I was able to just let go and let him just use his knowledge and expertise, I knew from the beginning that he would do all he could. No matter the outcome. It is rare to find such humanity in the legal world. His soft spoken manner was not equal to his strength as an attorney in this very difficult field of appeals. Despite not believing I would win any appeal, Kevin never gave up on trying until he got something for me. If he didn't recover, he certainly wasn't going to walk away from the table without giving all he had in his knowledge and grit....mostly his strength as an attorney, clearly doing a job he has a passion for. Thank you Kevin for all your kindness, your constant advocacy for my case and concern to help me recover enough to help with my health care and to take some pressure off so that as he said, " can concentrate on yourself"...You not only get a strong litigator and advocate, but you have a man who walks softly and has a passion for humanity. I believe in praise when due. I could use the entire 3000 plus words to describe this young man. As he is a rare gem in an occupation where strength is thought to be loud and aggressive.
