As a founding partner of ARHM&F, Eugenio “Gene” Hernandez brings extensive experience in the area of immigration law. Mr. Hernandez specializes exclusively in the field of immigration, nationality and consular law principally in business-related matters with an emphasis on corporate transfers, professionals, entrepreneurs and investors.
A native of Cuba, Mr. Hernandez attended the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree graduating magna cum laude. He then went on to earn a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida School of Law and a Master of Arts degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University. Mr. Hernandez also studied at the Paris Institute of International and Comparative Law in Paris, France.
Mr. Hernandez is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is a member of The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation and is active in the Cuban American Bar Association, where he previously served as President and on its board of directors. Equally as active in the community, Mr. Hernandez serves on the Board of Directors of Camillus House and also, after holding the title of President from 2001-2003, still continues to serve on the board of directors of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana in Miami, Florida. Mr. Hernandez’s past titles includes President of the South Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, as well as a former member of the Executive Council of the International Law Section of The Florida Bar and former co‑chairperson of the Immigration Committee.
In addition to his professional and civic leadership positions, Mr. Hernandez is the author of articles published by The Florida Bar, and others appearing in the International Law Quarterly, as well as lectures frequently on the topic of immigration law. He has served for a number of years as Program Co-Chair and Coordinator of the Annual Immigration Law Update, sponsored by the Florida Bar CLE Committee, the International Law Section and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Mr. Hernandez holds the highest rating assigned by Martindale-Hubbell and is included in The International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers, published by Law Business Research in the UK. Mr. Hernandez is also listed in Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Immigration Lawyers and was named among South Florida's Top Lawyers by the South Florida Legal Guide and Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine. He was also selected by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America and was recently selected by Law & Politics as a Florida Super Lawyer.
