A few people in a group reached out for a consultation. We worked hard to produce a list of information, evidence, etc. We are grateful that they sent us a Zoom link so we could join the meeting. There were two deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals and one hearing person in the group. However, at the start of the Zoom meeting, we received an odd text message from the assistant, Lily, stating that Berga was unable to attend and referred us to another lawyer without any explanation. We were left in the dark, which is unprofessional. I suspect that deaf discrimination may be at play, as no clear reason was provided for the sudden change, and the lack of communication caused unnecessary confusion.
