I hired Ms. Bismarck to help me with a jurisdictional case and paternity action against my ex. I am originally from Iowa and what immediately caught my attention was seeing that Ms. Bismarck is also originally from the Midwest. I met with Astrid after attempting to file for full custody of my child pro se for about a year. The only reason I felt I needed to hire a lawyer was because my son's father decided - right before he defaulted on the case - to hire a lawyer of his own. Suffice it to say that I was angry, bitter, an...d distraught when I went to see Astrid for the first time. However, in less than an hour, I immediately felt comfortable. I didn't even realize that was a thing! Even my parents, who witnessed the struggle I went through since my son was born. were floored by the job she did. I can't say enough about her. If I had to do it all over again, I would only change one thing: I would have sought out Astrid sooner. Yes, she has the experience, and that's a huge plus.
