William King Hill

William Hill is a commercial trial lawyer with more than 28 years of experience in courts in Florida and throughout the United States. He is a member of the firm’s Ethics Committee and Associate Mentoring Committee.

He is board certified by the Florida Bar in Business Litigation, and focuses his practice on complex business litigation and international arbitration. His clients are involved in such industries as banking and financial services, real estate, aviation, manufacturing, retail and technology, among others. In the international arena, William has represented companies from China, Russia, U.K., France, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Dominican Republic, Lithuania, and Republic of Georgia. He also counsels clients in connection with EB-5 immigration matters. 

William is also involved in the resolution of a variety of intellectual property related disputes. His experience includes representing companies in trade secret, trademark, trade name and copyright infringement litigation, and he has developed a national practice in the area of non-compete enforcement and defense.

William began his career as a law clerk in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. He was then a partner at two major south Florida law firms before joining Gunster as an equity shareholder.

William has tried business cases in courts and arbitration panels in Florida, New York, Washington D.C., California, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Tennessee. His cases have included representation of a foreign government in RICO actions, class actions, real estate foreclosures involving hundreds of millions of dollars, securities cases, government financing and products liability.

Active in Miami civic activities, William serves as the chairman of the board of the Florida Grand Opera.
